Review of Environmental Fate and Effects of Selected Phthalate Esters

Abstract
In this report, a review of environmental fate and effects of dimethyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, di-n-butyl phthalate, butylbenzyl phthalate, diisononyl phthalate and diisodecyl phthalate, are presented. The report is mainly based on data from existing reviews and easily available data. Classification and predicted no-effect concentrations for the substances in the aquatic environment are proposed.
