Environmental Project no. 594, 2000

Assessment of Criteria Development within the EU  Eco-labelling Scheme

Abstract
The project compares twelve studies, which create the basis for criteria development under the EU scheme.  The project discusses LCA methodological issues across the studies and implicates energy and waste water treatment too as well as access to data sources.   The project points out some conflict areas in the criteria development.  For instance covering a great market share conflicts with having a well defined product group as well as having an iterative process within international negotiations.

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency will, when op-portunity offers, publish reports and contributions relating to environmental research and development projects financed via the Danish EPA.

Please note that publication does not signify that the contents of the reports necessarily reflect the views of the Danish EPA.

The reports are, however, published because the Danish EPA finds that the studies represent a valuable contribution to the debate on environmental policy in Denmark.
