Abstract
eng: The report presents a feasibility study concerning use of autonomous machines for mechanical weed control in Christmas tree plantations. The present control methods are associated with problems. Spraying cause pollution and low biodiversity. Mechanical weeding leads to high costs, especially of labour. It is concluded that it from a technical point of view is feasible to develop autonomous machines, that these will have less environmental impact and that costs will be acceptable in a relative short term.

dan: Rapporten præsenterer en udredning vedrørende brug af autonome maskiner til mekanisk bekæmpelse af ukrudt i juletræsplantager. De nuværende bekæmpelsesmetoder er problematiske. Sprøjtning medfører bl.a. forurening og reduceret biodiversitet. Mekanisk bekæmpelse medfører bl.a. høje arbejdsomkostninger. Det konkluderes, at det teknisk set er muligt at udvikle autonome maskiner, at de har lavere miljøpåvirkninger og at driftsomkostningerne vil kunne bringes ned på et acceptabelt niveau på relativ kort sigt.
