Ozone depleting substances and the greenhouse gases HFCs, PFCs and SF6

Danish consumption and emissions 2001

Abstract
The report assesses the Danish consumption in 2001 of ozone-depleting substances and consumption and emissions in 2000 of the industrial greenhouse gases (HFCs, PFCs and SF6.   The consumption of ozone-depleting substances is roughly the same as in previous years.  Emissions of greenhouse gases are calculated at approx. 700 CO2 equivalents weighted by ODP.  Emissions in 2000 were approx. 800 tons, and thus, this is the first rime a reduction is seen in actual emissions. HFCs for refrigeration purposes represent by far the largest fall.

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency will, when op-portunity offers, publish reports and contributions relating to environmental research and development projects financed via the Danish EPA.

Please note that publication does not signify that the contents of the reports necessarily reflect the views of the Danish EPA.

The reports are, however, published because the Danish EPA finds that the studies represent a valuable contribution to the debate on environmental policy in Denmark.
