Abstract:
ABST If chemicals are bound to the soil particles, they will normally degrade slowly because they have become less available to the soil micro-organisms. However, the relationship is not so simple as it appears. In the present project, a comprehensive review of scientific literature was performed in which the influence of sorption on the degradation of chemicals in soil was studied. The conclusion of the project include a number of suggestions for future research into this field.

Abstract in Danish:
Hvis kemiske stoffer bindes til jordens partikler, vil de normalt nedbrydes langsomt, fordi de er blevet mindre tilgængelige for jordens mikroorganismer. Sammenhængen er dog ikke så simpel som det umiddelbart lyder. I dette projekt er der foretaget en omfattende gennemgang af videnskabelig litteratur, hvor sorptionens indflydelse på nedbrydningen af kemiske stoffer i >jord har været undersøgt. Projektets konklusion omfatter en række anbefalinger til fremtidig forskning på området.
