Waste Strategy 2005-08

Abstract
The Waste Strategy is one strategic element that works in synergy with the Government's overall stragey for sustainable development. There are tree aims with the strategy: - To outline guidelines for the Government's waste policy - To define the framework for the local municipal waste planning - To elaborate a national waste managemnet plan, which all members of the EU are obliged to. The Strategy sets the following agenda for the effort during the coming years. We must prevent the lost of resources and the environmental impact from the waste. In addition to this the growth in waste must be decoupled from the economical growth and finally, it must be ensured an improved cost-effectiveness of the waste policy
