Survey of Dioxin Emission from PCP-treated Wood

Abstract
ABST Dioxin has been analysed in PCP-preserved construction wood from Danis family houses from 1960-1072. All samples contained dioxin. Levels o 84-1097 ng I-TEQ/kg wood wer observed. PCP and dioxin in single-use pallets imported with goods from South Europe has also been determined. PCP was registered in 6 out of 10 samples. The sample with the highest level of PCP contained 4,6 ng I-TEQ/kg wood. The emission of dioxin to air in Denmark from PCP-preserved wood is re-estimated at 0,23 - 9,9 g I-TEQ/year.

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency will, when opportunity offers, publish reports and contributions relating to environmental research and development projects financed via the Danish EPA.

Please note that publication does not signify that the contents of the reports necessarily reflect the views of the Danish EPA.

The reports are, however, published because the Danish EPA finds that the studies represent a valuable contribution to the debate on environmental policy in Denmark.
