Amongst other things, the figures have not been corrected for amounts of ferrous metals removed from waste incineration plants. 2003 saw a substantial drop in imports of ferrous scrap by foundries and the Danish Steel Works. This is because the Danish Steel Works was closed down and therefore no longer contributes to the ISAG.
