Ozone depleting substances and the greenhouse gases HFCs, PFCs and SF6

Danish consumption and emissions 2003

Abstract
The report describes the Danish consumption in 2003 of ozone-depleting substances and the consumption and emission of industrial fluorinated greenhouse gases (HFCs, PFCs and SF6). The consumption of the ozone depleting substances is halved compared to 2002. The emission of the
f-gases is calculated to about 745,000 tons CO2-equivalents (accordingly to the Global Warming Potential of the substances) compared to 715,000 tons in 2002. HFCs used in the refrigeration sector are by far the most dominant source.

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency will, when opportunity offers, publish reports and contributions relating to environmental research and development projects financed via the Danish EPA.

Please note that publication does not signify that the contents of the reports necessarily reflect the views of the Danish EPA.

The reports are, however, published because the Danish EPA finds that the studies represent a valuable contribution to the debate on environmental policy in Denmark.
