Title:
Autonomous Weeder for Christmas Trees – Basic Development and Tests

Key Subjects:
weeds, mechanical weeding

Key Subjects in Danish:
ukrudt, mekanisk bekæmpelse

Abstract:
The work concerns development of a driverless machine for weed control in Christmas trees. The machine navigates between the rows and cut the weeds below the branches with a rotor cutter. It is controlled by means of a GPS on the basis of tree positions, which are used for definition of a route plan and for relative positioning of the cutter. The developed system appeared to be well suited, and is considered technically and economically realistic. The environmental perspectives are also good.
