Working Report No. 18, 2007

Noise mapping by use of Nord2000

– Reduction of number of meteo-classes from nine to four

Abstract
The joint Nordic calculation method Nord2000 is to be used for i.e. noise mapping. It prescribes that nine meteo-classes are used as basis for the year average of the parameters Lden and Lnight. This has shown to result in excessive calculation times. This report recommends the se of only four meteo-classes in connection with noise mapping and similar tasks, where the calculation time is important, and it defines the four classes. For noise mapping in cities only one meteo-class is needed.
