Markforsøg med mekanisk ukrudtsbekæmpelse

English summary

Field trials

In 1996-97 mechanised weeding has been tested in field trials in oil seed rape and mais as an alternative to herbicides.

Oil seed rape

The results have shown that row distance in winter sown oil seed rape as well in spring sown oil seed rape, can be increased to 50 cm and the weed be controlled mechanically at a satisfactory level compared to herbicides.

The field level has been the same though the row distance increased from the normal 12,5 cm to 50 cm and the amount of seed was reduced from 5 to 2,5 kg pr. ha.

Mais

In mais the results have shown that a combination af mechanical weeding with a band spraying of herbicide over the row, was necessary to provide an efficient weed control.

Practice on chance

The results are used in practice now when many farmers control the weed population in oil seed rape and in mais in a mechanised way.
