Summery and conclusions
This investigation included simulation and retention of particulate matter in retention basins during a long time period. The result covers combined servers. The results show good retention of particulate matter in the basins.
The results of the investigation are in accordance with measurements of inlets and outlets in basins and with other references in international literature.
The following retention of particulate matter for five different basins are found.

With accordance to the total mass balance in the basins which include both suspended and particulate matter the retention obtained by sedimentation results in an additional 50 % retention of matter from the discharge to the recipient.
