Abstract:
In the report the EU-reference method is compared to five other internationally recognized methods, where Colilert was one of these, together with the Danish national reference method until now. The conclusion on the data from the Danish study was among others, that with the Danish national reference method it was not possible to detect coliform bacteria in any of 15 samples where one or more of the other methods detected coliform bacteria. The Danish EPA has therefore decided to implement the EU reference method with Colilert as an alternative quantitative method for the examination of coliform bacteria and E. coli in Danish drinking water.

Abstract in Danish:
I rapporten foretages en sammenligning af EU's referencemetode med fem internationalt anerkendte metoder, hvor Colilert er en af dem, samt den danske referencemetode indtil nu. Konklusionen på resultaterne af undersøgelsen er blandt andet, at med den tidligere danske referencemetode blev der ikke påvist coliforme bakterier i én af de 15 prøver som blev fundet positive med én eller flere af de andre metoder. Colilert viste sig at være ækvivalent til EU's referencemetode til påvisning af coliforme bakterier og E. coli i drikkevand. På baggrund af undersøgelsen blev det besluttet at implementere EU-referencemetoden med Colilert som alternativ til undersøgelse af dansk drikkevand for coliforme bakterier og E. coli.
