Abstract:
To identify different headphones and hearing aids on the marked, a survey of the marked was made. From this survey 14 headphones and 6 hearing aids were chosen for analysis to identify the primary materials of the products. The results showed that the analysed products, both headphones and hearing aids, were made of primarily polyurethane (PUR) and silicone. PVC was also identified in 3 of the analysed hearing aids. These results were supplemented with analyses of the chemical content in the components of a headphone, provided by a manufacturer. From these results and from the knowledge on additives in the used materials, an assessment was made of the potential risks to human health. From the gathered knowledge and the exposure routes it is estimated that there is no health risk connected with the use of the products. No precise conclusions can though be given and it is given in the report how further assessments of the health risk from these products can be made.

Der er foretaget en kortlægning af markedet for hovedtelefoner og høreværn for at identificere produkter, der findes på markedet. Ud fra kortlægningen blev der udtaget 14 hovedtelefoner og 6 høreværn til analyse for, hvilke materialer produkter er lavet af. Resultaterne af analyserne viste, at de undersøgte produkter primært er lavet af polyurethan (PUR) eller silikone. Dette gør sig gældende for både hovedtelefoner og høreværn. PVC blev herudover identificeret i tre af de undersøgte høreværn. Disse resultater er suppleret med resultater fra en producent af hovedtelefoner, som har fået foretaget en analyse af hvilke stoffer, der var i et produkt. Ud fra disse resultater samt viden om hvilke tilsætningsstoffer, der normalt anvendes i materialerne er der foretaget en vurdering af om produkterne kan tænkes at indeholde stoffer i mængder, der kan skade sundheden. Der vurderes ikke ud fra den viden, der er indsamlet om produkterne, og de eksponeringsveje der er, at være en sundhedsrisiko ved anvendelsen af produkterne. Der kan dog ikke drages nogen sikre konklusioner, og rapporten skitserer, hvordan man evt. kan foretage en yderligere vurdering af evt. sundheds risici fra disse produkter.
