Abstract:
A better understanding of reductive dechlorination as a remediation technology in fractured clay systems is achieved by development of a numerical model characterizing the main processes and assessing the clean up times. These can be significantly reduced when dechlorination is enhanced. However the remediation action can increase the contaminant flux to the aquifer by the formation of daughter products. The results are sensitive to porosity, sorption coefficient, net infiltration and fracture spacing.

Ved udviklingen af en numerisk model opnås en bedre forståelse af reduktiv deklorering som afværgeteknologi i opsprækket moræneler. Modellen beskriver de vigtigste processer og oprensningstider kan vurderes. Disse kan væsentligt reduceres når deklorering stimuleres. Modelen viser, at SRD kan øge forureningsfluxen til magasinet ved dannelsen af nedbrydningsprodukter. Resultaterne er sensitive i forhold til porøsitet, sorption, infiltration og sprækkeafstanden.
