Abstract:
For this study 20 different packs of balloons have been purchased at different retailers. The result was that there was no measurable release of heavy metal, but all the balloons gave off nitrosamines in concentrations higher than allowed for soothers and bottle teats. Holland has limits for the content of nitrosamines and nitrosatables and Germany has migration limits for nitrosamines and nitrosatable substances from balloons. The four tested balloons migrated nitrosamines in concentrations below the German limit, but the release of nitrosatable substances was generally in very high concentrations and in three of the four balloons, the migration was higher than the German limit.

Der er under kortlægningen indkøbt i alt 20 forskellige poser med balloner. Analyserne viser, at der ikke afgives tungmetaller over detektionsgrænsen for de tre balloner, som blev analyseret. Derimod afgav alle fire balloner der blev analyseret for afgivelse af nitrosaminer og nitroserbare stoffer, både nitrosaminer og nitroserbare stoffer i koncentrationer, der er højere, end hvad der er tilladt for narresutter og nipler til sutteflasker. Holland har grænseværdier for indholdet af nitrosaminer og nitroserbare stoffer. Herudover har kun Tyskland grænseværdier for afgivelsen af nitrosaminer og nitroserbare stoffer fra balloner. Alle fire analyserede balloner afgav nitrosaminer i koncentrationer, der er lavere end den tyske grænseværdi, men kun en af ballonerne afgav nitroserbare stoffer i koncentrationer, der er lavere end den tyske grænseværdi.
