Brominated Flame Retardants: Toxicity and Ecotoxicity
Abstract
A toxicological and ecotoxicological data screening was made on 12
brominated flame retardants (BFR) used in Denmark. The objective of this
project was to outline the existing knowledge about the health and environmental hazards of these BFR, based on results of
a substance flow analysis project. It is concluded that some of the BFR may
represent a health hazard, and because of environmental properties of some
BFR the continued release may represent an increasing risk to aquatic
organisms.
Resumé:
Rapporten giver et overblik over eksisterende viden om de sundheds- og
miljømæssige risici ved nogle udvalgte bromerede flammehæmmere, som
anvendes i Danmark.. Resultatet bygger på en datascreening, af
eksisterende og relevante data.
