Working Report no. 1, 2002

Laboratory Evaluation of Annoyance of Low Frequency Noise

Abstract
The report gives the documentation of a project carried out at the Institute for Acoustic Technology at DTU. The purpose of the project was to investigate the annoyance from examples of low frequency noise. Test persons assessed eight different samples of noise at different noise levels, and their evaluation was compared to objective analysis of the sounds. Seven different objective assessment methods were investigated in this way. The project showed a.o. that the assessment method in the Danish Orientation no. 9/1997 had the best relation to the subjective assessments made by the test persons.
