Motor Racing Vehicles - Measurement Methods

Development of Noise Emission Measurement Methods for Motor Racing Vehicles

Abstract
Development of two simple metods for measuring the noise emission from motor racing vehicles is described. The declaration method is intended for provision of noise emission values for a type of motor sports vehicles to be used as input to noise predictions around racetracks, and deals with octave band analysis of the noise from a number of passbys. The monitoring method is intended for surveying the noise emission of individual vehicles during racing events, and is based on A-weighted maximum levels.
