Environmental Project No. 1336, 2010

A guidance document on microbiological control of cosmetic products

Abstract
A guidance document on microbiological control of cosmetic products was created within a project from Virksomhedsordningen of the DEPA. The guidance document is in English as one target group is non-Danish importers/producers of cosmetic products. The use of ISO standards has been encouraged. The guideline will describe and recommend validated methods for measuring microbiological contamination of the cosmetic product before, during and at end of use. This guideline will also recommend how laboratories used for self-control of cosmetics products can be equipped.

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency will, when opportunity offers, publish reports and contributions relating to environmental research and development projects financed via the Danish EPA.

Please note that publication does not signify that the contents of the reports necessarily reflect the views of the Danish EPA.

The reports are, however, published because the Danish EPA finds that the studies represent a valuable contribution to the debate on environmental policy in Denmark.
