Flora and Fauna Changes During Conversion from Conventional to Organic Farming

Abstract
Flora and fauna changes during conversion to organic farming During two years the effects of conversion to organic practice was investigated in fields with spring barley and winter wheat, which were previously included in an investigation of effects of reduced pesticide dosages. For plant and insect abundance the effect of conversions is almost equal to 75% dosage reduction. However, flowering is doubled and seed amount increases by 35, a number of prey insects increase in amount and 55% Skylarks are seen. Conversion may be considered a route to increasing nature elements but local agricultural problems should also be considered.
