Fate and Effects of Triclosan

Abstract
Studies regarding the fate and effects of triclosan in waste water treatment plants (WWTPs) were reviewed and risk assessments were made. The assessments are based on data from other countries, since there are no information from Danish WWTPs. The results can therefore not be considered conclusive for Danish conditions. Based on the available information on Danish WWTPs it is considered most likely that the concentration of triclosan in the effluent does not pose a risk for the aquatic environment.
