Abstract
eng: The project consists of an analysis of the flow of brominated flame retardants
through the Danish society and an assessment of the possibilities for substitution of the
flame retardants. In the substance flow analysis information on the consumption of
brominated flame retardants with raw materials and end products is compared to information
on the disposal of products containing flame retardants and estimates on the emission of
the compounds to the environment. The assessment of alternatives include a review of fire
safety requirements, international regulation and eco-label requirements regarding
brominated flame retardants.
Resumé
dan: Projektet består af en analyse af strømmen af bromerede flammehæmmere gennem det
danske samfund og en undersøgelse af mulighederne for substitution af flammehæmmerne. I
analysen sammenholdes oplysninger om forbruget af bromerede flammehæmmere med råvarer og
færdigvarer, med information om hvorledes produkter indeholdende flammehæmmerne efter
brug bortskaffes og beregninger af, hvor store mængder af stofferne der udledes til
omgivelserne. Med henblik på at analysere mulighederne for substitution gennemgås
international regulering af flammehæmmere, brandsikkerhedskrav samt de gældende
miljømærkes krav vedrørende bromerede flammehæmmere.
