Abstract:
Over the last few decades Denmark has made considerable progress in
environmental administration. This book provides a coherent account of Danish experience
as a contribution to the international exchange of experience in the environmental
area.Three principal questions are addressed:What requirements are stipulated by the
European Community? How has Denmark elected to regulate environmental matters? And what
impact has regulation had?The questions are examined with regard to the
authorities, enterprises and consumers. Emphasis is placed on what works and what does
not.The benefits, drawbacks and pitfalls of environmental administration are assessed.
