Abstract:
The report gives information about the possibilities for substitution of medium-chained chloroparaffins as additives in lubricants for metalworking. The technical, environmental and health effects of the substitutes are assessed. It is concluded that more research is needed in order to fulfil the requirements for technical solutions that have better environmental and health effects than the medium-chained chloroparaffins.

Abstract in Danish:
Rapporten omhandler mulighederne for erstatning af mellemkædede chlorparafiner i smøremidler til metalbearbejdning. Der gives en vurdering af alternativernes tekniske og miljø- og sundhedsmæssige egenskaber. Det konkluderes, at yderligere udvikling er nødvendig for at opnå teknisk tilfredsstillende resultater med forbedrede miljø- og sundhedsmæssige egenskaber.
