Abstract:
The study summarises information on the use of the brominated flame retardant Deca-BDE in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) and describes suitable alternatives to Deca-BDE. The study has not identified any application of Deca-BDE in EEE for which substitution is not possible, from the scientific or technical point of view. For all EEE materials and components presently using Deca-BDE, technically acceptable alternatives are available on the market.

Rapporten opsumerer viden om anvendelse af den bromerede flammehæmmer deca-BDE i elektriske og elektroniske produkter og beskriver egnede alternativer. Det dokumenteres, at der ud fra et videnskabeligt og teknisk synspunkt findes alternativer til alle anvendelser af deca-BDE i elektriske og elektroniske produkter. For alle materialer og komponenter findes der teknisk acceptable alternativer på markedet.
