Preface

This report is primarily based on a study of published literature, but also covers practical experience. The section on environmental input and exposure was written by Niels Elmelund and Morten Strandberg from the National Environmental Research Institute DMU (National Environmental Research Institute of Denmark), Silkeborg, and Klaus Paaske and Georg Noyé from DIAS (Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences), Flakkebjerg. The section on weed control was written primarily by Bo Melander, DIAS, Flakkebjerg, who focused on agriculture, and by Lillie Andersen, DIAS, Aarslev, who focused on container-grown plants. The section on disease control was mainly written by John Larsen, DIAS, Flakkebjerg, under the leadership of Lillie Andersen, DIAS, while Bent Löschenkohl, DIAS, Flakkebjerg described forecasting and warning systems. The section on insect pest control was written by Lars Monrad Hansen, DIAS, Flakkebjerg. The section on plant breeding and selection was written by Poul Erik Brander, DIAS, Aarslev, with input from Erik Bjørn Jensen, DIAS, Aarslev.
