Entomophthorales on cereal aphids
Characterisation, growth, virulence, epizootiology and potiential for microbial
control
Abstract
Insect pathogenic fungi from Entomophthorales establish naturalepizootics in populations
of aphids. Selected species from Entomophthorales, in particular Pandora neoaphidis, are
evaluated forbiological control of aphids in cereals, both for releases
(inundationbiological control) and for conservation biological control. Thereport is based
on results obtained in the project and from litteraturestudies and contains the following
topics: caracterisation, growth, virulence and epizootiology.

Insektpatogene svampe fra Entomophthorales danner naturlige epidemier i
populationer af bladlus. Potentialet af svampe fra Entomophthorales, især arten Pandora
neoaphidis, til biologisk bekæmpelse af bladlus i korn er evalueret. Både potentialet
ved direkte udsætning og potentialet for understøtning af naturlige epidemier er belyst.
Rapporten er baseret på de opnåede resultater i projektet samt litteraturstudier og
rummer følgende emner: karakterisering, vækst, virulens og epidemiologi.
